Mob: increased police surveillance in Val-Bélair this weekend

After relatively drunk outdoor parties in Haute-Saint-Charles, officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) will tighten surveillance in the area from May 14 to 15.

The increased police presence follows numerous complaints from citizens received over the past weekend.

Parties gathering several hundred young people at a sand quarry north of Val-Bélair have collapsed, according to SPVQ.

Many criminal offenses have been committed as well as some offenses under municipal laws and the Highway Safety Code.

In particular, we had a case of driving disability, offenses related to threats and assaultexplanation by Marie-Pier Rivard, spokeswoman for SPVQ.

Sensitization

Police are present in large numbers to prevent the scenario from happening again, especially by applying a zero tolerance policy in relation to drunk driving.

There is a lot of excessive drinking, drugs at these gatherings.
