Highway 40 was closed westward following a serious accident Friday morning near Neuville, near Quebec.
This collision involving two vehicles occurred after 11 am at km 278.
We first feared for the life of one of the two drivers involved, a 31-year-old man. The Sûreté du Québec now indicates that this person is not in danger.
The motorists involved in this collision were taken to a hospital in the greater Quebec City region to be treated for their injuries.
Too fast?
The circumstances surrounding this accident are still unclear. According to initial findings, the excessive speeding of at least one of the two motorists involved would be involved.
Rebuilding specialists are on hand to gather additional clues. Highway 40 is closed indefinitely in this area for investigation purposes.
Motorists are currently diverted via Route 138.
