Many Manitoba Hydro customers are without electricity because strong winds cause multiple power outages.
At 7:15 p.m., 245 outages were recorded across the province, affecting more than 12,250 subscribers, especially in the south of the province.
According to the Manitoba Hydro website, power is expected to return between 9 pm and 10:30 pm depending on the area.
Environment Canada predicted gusts of 80 km/h for the south of the province.
On its Twitter page, Hydro-Manitoba explained these disruptions by broken power poles due to strong winds or by branches connecting the lines.
In another tweet, Manitoba Hydro said its personnel were working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.
