A 60-year-old died after being trapped under his car on Saturday in Plateau-Mont-Royal, in circumstances not yet clear, according to information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

tried to pull the man, but had to use a jack to lift the car to free him.The reason why the man, who is 65, found himself under his car around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning remains unknown.
According to witnesses at the scene, the man’s vehicle was about to start and he would be crushed, so he became a prisoner under the vehicle.

.When police released the 60-year-old from under his vehicle, they began resuscitation maneuvers.
The man in critical condition was taken to a hospital center, where he was pronounced dead by medical authorities.
A crime scene was constructed where the tragedy took place, near the intersection of Laurier and Mentana in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
