In Center-South, a pedestrian was dragged by a tanker a few meters away

A man in his thirties trapped under the wheels of a tank truck following a collision was dragged a few meters down a street in Montreal’s Center-Sud district.

Police are still unable to determine the cause of the collision or the reasons why this pedestrian found himself trapped under the vehicle, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) indicated.

Around noon, the SPVM received a call about the collision of a pedestrian and a truck.

A tank truck is surrounded by yellow tape and by firefighters.

The victim was taken to the hospital who sustained serious injuries to the lower body. He is in critical condition.

The driver of the tanker was not injured. He was treated on the spot due to nervous shock.

The tragedy occurred at the intersection of boulevard de Maisonneuve and rue de Lorimier.

A security perimeter has been established on rue de Lorimier, between boulevard de Maisonneuve and rue Sainte-Catherine. An investigation was opened.
