With gas prices rising above the symbolic $ 2 per liter mark, can Quebecers ’habits be called to change?

Louise Gagnon, director of communications for the Fédération québécoise de camping et de caravaning, remains optimistic, pointing out that there are different ways for campers to cope with rising gas prices.

Of course, these are not ideal conditions, but at the same time we are somewhat hostage because there are no other alternatives. We conducted a survey on our website to find out how people would deal with rising gas prices. 37% told us they would change nothing, 20% answered that they would save money elsewhere without reaching the camping budget. That’s 57% of people still leavinghe pointed out.

Reducing the distances traveled on the road is also one way to save money that many campers choose.

20% answered that they would stay longer at the same campsite than walking and others, in 17% of cases, would choose to camp farther away from home. But it’s all the people who still go campinghe says.
