Waterloo Regional Police officers are searching for a man following the death of an 8-year-old boy in Cambridge.
At around 10 a.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to a residence near the intersection of Townline Road and River Road. Upon arrival, police found the body of an 8 -year -old boy.
Police said it was a suspicious death.
Officers are now looking for a man who could be armed and dangerous. Officers said they were looking to talk to him and feared for his safety.
The man is said to be in his 40s, 1.80 m tall, thin, with blue eyes, short blond hair and a short beard. He was last seen wearing brown khaki pants and most likely wearing a blue or black helmet or military -style hat, officials said.
Police said the man and child met and believed it was an isolated incident.
The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy is scheduled, police said.
