The author of the saber attacks in Old Quebec faces two murder charges and five others of attempted murder.

Judge Richard Grenier finished giving his instructions, Monday morning, to eleven jury members.

The magistrate explained to them the parameters they must examine to decide whether the 26-year-old accused was responsible for the crime or not for the events that took place on October 31, 2020.

The good and the bad

If the jurors believe Girouard was able to tell the difference between right and wrong, he should be convicted. Convictions of first or second degree murder are possible as well as manslaughter.

Judge Grenier wanted good deliberation for the seven women and four men, who would be removed from the world until they had a verdict.
