The river overflows in the Dalhousie sector, near the Petit Champlain district in Quebec, due to rain and strong winds that affected the capital last night.
The high water level, which raises fears of evacuations, has fortunately subsided in the last few minutes.
Dalhousie Street, however, remains submerged. It is closed to traffic.
Firefighters conducted various inspections in the area. Fortunately, no residents were evacuated. No major damageunderlined Alexandre Lajoie, spokesman for the Quebec City Fire Department.
There is no transport on the ferry
The ferry service will be closed to vehicles until further notice. Only pedestrians and cyclists can cross between Quebec and Lévis.
Some power outages are also counted in the Capitale-Nationale. This morning, more than 1,000 customers were without electricity.
However, power was restored to most of these dwellings after 8 am
