Timmins Wildfire 1, an out-of-control fire raging on 1,445 acres near Morin Village, was forced to evacuate about 50 people in the Shining Tree area on Saturday.

On Monday, the ministry announced that a no-traffic zone had been placed in the area, which includes a section of Route 560 between Meteor Lake and Grassy Road.

It is forbidden to go into this territory without permission from the ministry.

This exclusion zone affects all cantons of the sector.

This closure could delay the opening of the walleye fishing season in the region, and have economic consequences for cottages in the region.

Shauna and Rob Weiss, the new owners of Camp Shining Tree, have to recover at the will of Mother Nature who can burn down the chalet they bought in March.

Our first season, we just bought, we have to stay positivesaid Ms. Weiss.

So far, the couple has only invited friends to their chalet and they don’t know when the crisis will allow them to receive the first customers of the season.
