A teenager died after a collision in Drummondville

A young man was killed after a collision between his scooter and a pickup truck on Wednesday night in Drummondville.

Emergency services were called after 9 pm on Robert Bernard Street for a collision involving a pickup-style vehicle and a moped.

According to the spokesperson of SQ, Nicolas Scholtus, the collision allegedly occurred at the intersection of a traffic light as the van was traveling on René-Lévesque Boulevard toward Highway 20 and the teenager was traveling on Robert Bernard Street eastbound. The latter was ejected from his scooter.

He was taken to Drummondville hospital center where he succumbed to his injuries.

A police officer investigating the collision was dispatched to the scene to determine the causes of the incident.

Under these circumstances, the Highway 20 exit ramp is closed to traffic. It was restored early Thursday morning.
