May 20 is a mythical date in the history of FC Barcelona. And not just because on that day, in 1992, the first team football finally won the long-awaited European Cup. Seventy years before that explosion of collective euphoria, the barcelonismo inaugurated the Les Corts Stadium, at that time ‘camp nou’, to distinguish it from ‘camp vell’, the field on Carrer Indústria, known as ‘l’Escopidora’. Loved dearly by the Barcelona fans of the time, Les Corts was the second field owned by the Barcelona club, which lived in it its first golden days. It was a legendary stage, which was known as the ‘Cathedral of football’, for a team that was beginning to become great.
