Toronto police attended the scene of the collision around 7:30 pm at the corner of Queen Street East and Kingswood Avenue, where the driver of a truck collided with a house.

The collision cut off the gas lines and caused a leak. Toronto police officer Jeffrey Bangild told CBC News that the leak was sealed an hour after the collision of a crew from Enbridge Gas.

A vehicle traveling south into Kingswood, approaching Queen Street, crossed an intersection and went into an alley and then into a garageexplained Jeffrey Bangild. Due to the force of the impact, the gas line was cut off, causing the evacuation of two buildings.

Crews from the Toronto Fire Department and paramedics also attended the scene. Paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the driver – a man – after firefighters picked him up from the truck.

Toronto police later confirmed to CBC News that the driver was dead. Police are investigating whether the driver fell ill or died as a result of the collision.

The age of the driver has not been confirmed.
