Toronto police have vowed to patrol Woodbine Beach on Monday night for Victoria Day fireworks to “ensure public safety” after Sunday’s violence.
The traditional bay fireworks Ashbridges to the east of the city should take place at 10 pm
Large crowds are expected for the City of Toronto fireworks tonight. Officers will patrol the area to ensure safetysaid the police department on Twitter.
Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night in Woodbine Beach Park.
The victim, a man, was rushed to hospital after the shooting.
On Sunday earlier, police found a man injured in the alleged knife attack. His injuries were minor, police said.
The police also warned that it is forbidden to detonate your own fireworks. Police officers and municipal inspectors will be deployed in the neighborhood to enforce the by-law.
