Two men have been charged with first degree murder following a broad daylight shooting on May 19 in Saskatoon. Although one of them has already been arrested, Ville des Ponts police are still searching for the second.
Authorities are also asking for public assistance in the search for Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron.
The 33-year-old is 5ft 6in and reportedly has multiple tattoos including a Mayan statue on his right hand, a black rose on his left wrist and a gorilla on his upper chest.
Police believe he may have been holding a gun.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Abdula Ali, another suspect, appeared in Provincial Court on Tuesday morning by phone from the correctional center.
The 35-year-old man was charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
He is scheduled to appear in the Court of Queen’s Bench on June 13 for a bail hearing.
A shot in the sunshine
On May 19, Saskatoon police were called to the Nutana neighborhood after hearing multiple gunshots in an apartment building around 4:30 p.m.
Further calls were received soon after about possible gunshots were heard a few blocks away.
Authorities said the body of a 29-year-old man was found behind an apartment building while two other people were injured.
