In Pointe-à-la-Croix, a fire completely destroyed an apartment building in the early afternoon.
The fire is said to have started in a bedroom of one of the four apartments of the building, located on the first floor.
It would have spread quickly throughout the building located on Sarto Street.
No one was injured, according to the Sûreté du Québec.
Three households were taken care of by the Red Cross, according to Pascal Martel, fire director for Pointe-à-la-Croix-Matapédia-Les Plateaux.
The outside stood, but the inside was engulfed by smoke and fire on the second floor. The first floor was flooded due to waterhe says.
The Matapédia fire station and the Listuguj community fire department were asked to put out the fire.
The fire department is investigating to determine what started the fire.
