Beginning Wednesday, the testimony of plaintiff in the trial of soldier Claude Houde, accused of sexual assault, continued throughout Thursday and will continue on Friday in front of the Court Martial at the Bagotville base.
Master Corporal member of 3at The Maintenance Squadron faced three counts of sexual assault, one of which resulted in bodily harm.
Claude Houde is expected to testify on Friday afternoon. He had no relationship with the authority of the complainant, who was also a soldier.
The defense examined the alleged victim for several hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Attorney M.at Jean-Marc Tremblay attempted to highlight the contradictions in the complainant’s testimony. The defense argues that the alleged events are completely fictitious.
The alleged victim seemed to shudder at the many questions raised on Thursday, while the accused, who was also in the room, nodded as not agreeing with his explanations.
In his testimony the other day, the alleged victim stated his version of events.
The three sexual assaults allegedly took place outside the Bagotville military base in a private residence.
According to the alleged victim’s statements, the first sexual assault took place after a drunken night at a restaurant in Jonquière in December 2015.
It would be a complete sexual assault, like the second sexual assault alleged against Master Corporal Houde.
The third sexual assault, which caused injuries, occurred in 2017 in a bedroom. Something would have been used this time.
