Power outages that still affect approximately 30,000 customers, most of them Laurentians, should be restored on Sunday, assured Éric Filion, executive vice-president at Hydro-Québec.
Éric Fillion was joined by Jonathan Julien, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, to review the latest developments this morning in the Lachute region, one of the hardest to be affected.
We are working hard for the weekend. But, there will definitely remain some more complex cases for the start of the week.however, Éric Filion is mentioned. So we still have a huge weekendhe continued.
Heavy rain in some areas today is slightly slowing operations, but Hydro-Québec should still be able to reconnect nearly 10,000 customers tomorrow.
More than 2,000 workers are still active in the field and work nearly 16 hours a day, Jonathan Julien detailed.
We are at maximum staffadded Eric Filion.
A rebuilding work
The ground work is complicated due to the abundant vegetation and size of the trees, explained the executive vice-president at Hydro-Québec.
The damage was great [à cause] they are enormous trees. We don’t have to re-supply our customers, we just have to rebuild the network. That’s longer.
500 poles have been re-installed in recent days.
The experience we are currently living in is not the same as what was observed in 2019 that affected more people. We found that the nature of the adjustments to be made to the network was overwhelmingsaid Minister Julien.
