A driver was intercepted on René-Lévesque Boulevard, in Jonquière, on Saturday night, after a public outcry.
At approximately 9 p.m., a witness reported that the individual’s vehicle was driving incorrectly. The police followed him and they both came to the conclusion on him.
When they were about to intercept the 35-year-old man, he dangerously approached the ditch. At the last minute, he redirected his car towards the road, but he started driving in the wrong direction.
He stopped the car on the other side of the line.
Patrol officers estimated the individual was likely to have a drug disability. The man was therefore taken to the police headquarters located in the Arvida sector to undergo tests to determine if he was indeed drunk.
Its results should now be evaluated.
