A woman in the Quebec region was killed while driving a motorcycle on Highway 20 on Saturday night.
Emergency services called around 9:30 pm Saturday in connection with a motorcycle accident in the Beaumont area.
The woman was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived at the scene.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
According to witnesses in the area, the 33-year-old motorcyclist was driving very fast on Highway 20 westward before exiting a sudden exit from the road towards the central median at km 337.
A section of the highway was closed to traffic until around 3 am Sunday to allow Sûreté du Québec investigators to carry out their work.
Motorists may deviate from Route 132 while a police operation is being conducted.
The coroner’s inquest has been opened.
