A policeman and a worker were run over by a car east of Montreal

A policeman and a worker were hit by a car Monday morning near a construction site on Crémazie Street, near the intersection of Saint-Michel Boulevard in Montreal.

According to the agent of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Véronique Comtois, the driver of a car traveling westward on rue Crémazie lost control of his vehicle near the construction site for one reason or another.

The driver would have first removed a police officer in charge of traffic around the site.

The car also collided with a worker nearby, who went to a concrete parapet protecting the area.

An investigator is trying to reconstruct the route of the vehicle.

The officer and worker were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries lower body.

According to officer Comtois, there is no fear of police life. However, SPVM is still awaiting the worker health report.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the accident.

Collision section investigators were dispatched to the scene to establish the circumstances of this accident and determine the reasons behind this spectacular loss of control.
