That’s how he Raise UD EDI has once again been a pioneer in its commitment to inclusion and will travel with an unusual team, made up only of women, who will play in the final phase of LaLiga Genuine which takes place from June 3 to 5 in Bilbao.

Levante will face from Friday to Sunday the last rounds of a competition organized by LaLiga and in which 42 teams participate this season.

To face the event with total professionalism and ambition, the Levante EDI players trained this Tuesday afternoon with the Levante Feminino, the leading team of the Primera Iberdrola.

Levante EDI is made up of a team of 16 players. They will face RC Deportivo de la Coruña, Fundación Fútbol Base Reus and Nàstic de Tarragona in the sports city of Lezama.

Levante UD EDI is a Soccer School for People with Intellectual Disabilities. As they point out on their website, “we draw smiles. That is the motto that Levante UD EDI has carried as its flag since this Levante Foundation project saw the light of day in 2012. In this way, Levante UD became the first professional football club to create a School for the Intellectually Disabled and incorporate it into its structure”.

The school has been growing year after year until it now has more than 100 players. In addition, this growth has allowed that, since January 2015, an initiation group for children from 8 to 12 years of age has been created, which is being a complete success.
