The Northern MorningPride Month celebration began in Thunder Bay. Three area school boards raised the rainbow flag on June 1 to celebrate the month of appreciation. Thunder Pride also put on a range of events throughout the month.

According to Anita Jean, digital community health and equity manager and collaborator for Pride Thunder Bayit is important to feature pride, to promote inclusiveness, especially in rural areas.
