Pascal Martel, who is accused of insulting a corpse, will remain incarcerated until June 9, the date of his return to court for his release investigation.
A body was found on May 26 in the backyard of the residence where Pascal Martel lived in Nicolet. Her son Jason Martel, accused of the same crime, was released Wednesday at the Trois-Rivières courthouse under certain conditions.
The victim, whose identity was not confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec, was Florent Dumas, an intellectually disabled man living with Pascal Martel.
