The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) suspended its search Thursday afternoon in Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, three days after the discovery of other human remains on the shores of Lac Saint-Jean.
Searches are not allowed to collect more clues, it is indicated on the side of SQ
.Rescuers and a helicopter took over Thursday to continue the search in more difficult to access areas. In particular, rescuers can abseil down walls.
In recent days, police have raided the area on foot, by mountain bike and by boat.
A command post was deployed Wednesday in a room in the town hall of Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix.
Police are trying to find other human remains or clues related to Monday’s and last week’s findings of pedestrians.
A boot containing debris was found last week, while women’s clothing was lying on top of the man’s remains found Monday. The SQ
believe that they are probably the remains of the same person. With information from Chantale Desbiens
