Louis-Philippe-Paré high school, located in Châteauguay, Montérégie, announced early Friday that the school doors will be closed for the entire day after students and staff members underwent death threats on Thursday night.
After receiving the threats, the Center de services scolaire des Grandes-Seigneuries contacted the Chateauguay police department.
The socio-community agent of the police force, Erika Grondin, reported that school authorities and police investigators had communication at night and that the latter recommended to school officials to close the school. of Louis-Philippe-Paré for that day.
Chateauguay police patrollers were supposed to occupy the school grounds located on Brisebois Boulevard for the rest of the day.
The school principal, Stéphane Brault, sent a communication to the parents of about 2,200 students.
As of Friday morning, no arrests have been reported and the police investigation is ongoing.
Last Monday, threats were sent to the same school, but in the evening, police arrested a 22-year-old man, Alexandre Charbonneau, who was detained while pending his release investigation.
Châteauguay police have not established a link between this suspect and the events on Friday.
