A search of a residence on Baker Street in Cowansville on Thursday allowed Sûreté du Québec police to get their hands on large quantities of narcotics and contraband materials.
Among other things, $ 15,000, 4,300 methamphetamine tablets, 1.5 kg of cannabis, 55 cannabis plants, nearly 600 g of cocaine, 400 illegal cigarettes and four air guns were seized.
Two people at the scene were arrested: a 34-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man. In addition, three other warrants of arrest were issued for the suspect in other cases. So he remained confined.
As for the suspect, he could face charges related to drug trafficking, possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and possession of prohibited weapons. He will also remain incarcerated until his release hearing, set for next Monday.
