The current wave of COVID-19 continues to decline in Quebec. According to data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday, the number of patients in hospitals due to the coronavirus rose from 1,067 to 1,038. There were 28 people in intensive care, the same number the day before.

Eleven new deaths were added to the death toll. We now report 15,446 deaths associated with COVID-19 since it appeared in Quebec.

The Ministry of Health is also reporting 568 new cases since the previous report. Authorities have identified more than 1.06 million cases of infection since the pandemic began.

However, the number of cases listed does not represent the situation because access to screening centers is limited to client priorities.

According to the VaccinTrackerQC site, 5,811 doses of the vaccine have been given in the past 24 hours, mostly secondary booster doses.

The percentage of people aged 5 and over who received the first dose was 91.50%. It was also reported that 87.84% of qualified Quebecers received a second dose and 59.69% received a first booster dose and 13.27% received a second booster dose.

Among those aged 60 and older, the percentage of those who received the fourth dose was 42.5%.
