The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has found no reasonable basis to believe that an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer committed a criminal offense when he punched a man in the winter of 2022.

The officer responded by punching him twice in the face and pinching him to the ground.
The individual was arrested under Mental Health Act and for nonsense.
SIU opened an investigation on Feb. 3 after POPThe director [de l’UES, Joseph] Martino, found no reasonable basis to believe that the subject officer acted unlawfully in his relationship with the manend of Unit.
