Part of the early childhood center (CPE) La Cache-cache in Chicoutimi-Nord was evacuated in a preventive manner by the Civil Security of Saguenay, after identifying changes to the dike behind the building.

, Annie Boulianne. Some areas had to be evacuated, including the daycare nursery.Saguenay Civil Security ordered the evacuation of part of the building located on rue Colbert after teams from the Engineering Department noticed changes to the dike behind the daycare, during their annual monitoring.
Access to this part of the building is also prohibited until further notice. The rest of CPE
remains open.This was done only as a preventive measure, no damage or stalling of the dam was found behind said building.said Dominic Arseneau, spokesman for Saguenay, in a message sent to the media Monday afternoon.
A concrete wall
A wall made of concrete blocks will be placed at the back of the building, between the embankment and the courtyard. CPE
such as the retaining wall installed in La Baie after residences were evacuated at the end of April.The operation could take two or three days, Dominic Arseneau said, in a phone interview. Access to evacuated areas will be possible.
Ground motion experts from the Quebec Department of Transport were also notified about the situation. They visited the scene on Monday.
