The historical Schalke 04, who after his relegation returns this next season to the Bundesgliga, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Frank Kramer as New Coachwith a two-year contract.
Kramer, 50, was sacked in April by Arminia Bielefeld, which was relegated to Second at the end of the year. He also managed Greuther Fürth, Fortuna Düsseldorf and the German Under-20 team.
Kramer takes over from Michael Buskens, who as interim managed the return of the historic team from Gelsenkirchen to the Bundesliga. Büskens will act as assistant to the new coach.
Kramer’s mission will be to ensure the permanence of Schalke, which, despite passing through the Second Division, has 160,000 members like Borussia Dortmund, only behind Bayern’s 293,000.
