In hopes of recognizing her from the public, Toronto police released a composite photo of the girl whose remains were found in a shipping container at a high eastern end of the city on May 2 last year.
Police also released an image of a vehicle of interest they were trying to locate as part of their investigation. It’s a dark -colored Porsche Cayenne, from between 2011 and 2014, according to the press release.
The inquest described the girl as 4 to 7 years old, black, of African or African-Canadian descent and approximately 105cm tall.
The victim was wrapped in a crochet blanket inside a plastic bag wrapped in colorful blankets. Pictures of these objects have already been published in the hope that someone will identify them and contact investigators.
Police were called to the Castle Frank Street and Dale Avenue area, north of Bloor Street East, on May 2 around 4.45pm where the girl’s body was found. Investigators believe the corpse was left in the area between Thursday April 28 and Monday May 2, 2022. But the young victim may have died in the summer or fall of 2021, or earlier.
An autopsy was performed last month, but medical examiners have yet to determine the cause of death, police said.
