Two dead in crash northeast of Toronto

Two women died Saturday following a collision involving a car and a dump truck in Whitchurch-Stouffville, northeast of Toronto.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Warden Avenue and Stouffville Street.

York Regional Police Constable Amy Boudreau said emergency services were contacted at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. He added that the relatives of the deceased, the driver and passenger of the car, have not yet been notified.

Police closed roads near the accident to conduct the investigation.

It is too early to determine the cause of the collision, explained Officer Boudreau.

The dump truck driver who sustained minor injuries was taken to the hospital.

Investigators urge anyone with videos or testimony to submit that information to the authorities.
