In a statement released Saturday night, the territorial government explained that the affected properties are along Canol Road between Sawmill Road and the Pelly River ferry dock.

Authorities added that other sectors could also be affected and all people whose properties are subject to an alert should be prepared to leave within an hour if this alert becomes an evacuation order.

The government recommends that they prepare an evacuation kit containing their medicines and important documents, in addition to specifying where they should go in case there is an evacuation and where they will send their animals, if necessary.
