A group of fishermen in Australia were surprised when they caught a threshing shark and discovered that the animal’s body was already the target of an attack by a larger animal. The threshing shark, which can reach 6 meters in length, is listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

In a video posted on YouTube, Sammy Hitzke and his friend Shaun Whale say they spent four and a half hours catching the shark. “There it is. Big and tall,” Sammy said. “It’s a shark. It looks like the shark has been attacked. I don’t know what’s going on there. It’s a giant threshing machine.”

According to the British newspaper, the fishermen were shocked when they brought the shark to the boat and realized that much of the animal’s body was missing after it was attacked by another predator. Daily Star.

“This is epic. Three quarters of himself is missing. This is a true beast of the deep,” Whale said. He described the event as “the discovery of a lifetime”.

“I certainly never once thought I’d find a threshing shark that had been eaten by something gigantic,” Shaun says in the video for a long time fishing.

“I’m definitely very tired, but this might be the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in the ocean,” he said.

In the comments, viewers raised the possibility of a squid being involved in the process. One said, “The shark looks like it was attacked by a giant squid. The damage doesn’t look like it was done by any other shark.”

Another interpretation also raised the question that a shark might have chewed up the animal’s body, but this really leads to the belief that it’s all a squid. “There may have been a shark chewing up the threshing machine initially, but at one point 100% squid was retained because sharks don’t just leave the spine.”

The material was posted on YouTube three days ago and has already had over 170,000 views.
