A group of fishermen in Australia were surprised when they caught a threshing shark and discovered that the animal’s body was already the target of an attack by a larger animal. The threshing shark, which can reach 6 meters in length, is listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

In a video posted on YouTube, Sammy Hitzke and his friend Shaun Whale say they spent four and a half hours catching the shark. “There it is. Big and tall,” Sammy said. “It’s a shark. It looks like the shark has been attacked. I don’t know what’s going on there. It’s a giant threshing machine.”
