Data leak at CHU de Québec

The CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center (CRCHU) has been affected by a breach of confidentiality following the theft of computer equipment.

On the night of June 5-6, 2022, individuals entered the spaces of the research center and stole computer equipment containing records of current and former employees of the CRCHU. This data could potentially fall into the hands of third parties, the university hospital.

The 10,000 compromised files exclusively affect current or former employees CRCHU. No patient or research project participant data was affected by this situation.

Arrests

Ongoing police investigation led to the arrest. Some of the stolen equipment was recovered as part of the operation.
