Two searches were conducted in Saint-Ferdinand and Plessisville, in the Center-du-Québec region in connection with the investigation targeting individuals believed to be associated with the Atomwaffen Division terrorist group.
This group, which has been listed as a terrorist entity since 2021 in Canada, calls for violence against racial, ethnic and religious groups, and also targets informants, police and bureaucrats.
It is a right-wing affiliated group, which can be described as neo-Nazi allegiance. Two searches were conducted on the dwellings. We have a large police deployment, i.e. approximately 60 investigators on site, in addition to having the assistance of a tactical intervention group, dog handlers and other support services including the Sûreté du Québecexplanation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) spokesman, Sergeant Charles Poirier.

More searches are coming, according to the RCMP. No arrests or charges will be made today, Sergeant Poirier maintained. But it may come depending on what we find. Investigators have been in the area for some time.
The RCMP spokesperson declined to provide further information so as not to jeopardize the investigation.
