Estrie could be affected by a severe lightning storm that produces large hailstorms and destructive afternoon gusts, according to Environment Canada.
At 3:30 pm, Environment Canada meteorologists are monitoring a very dangerous storm that could cause very strong gusts, hail the size of a nickel or more and heavy rain in the area.
The sectors of Brome-Missisquoi, Coaticook, Cookshire, Granby, Lac-Mégantic, Magog, Sherbrooke, Weedon and Richmond are being targeted by the severe warning of this storm.
The hot and humid weather predicted by Environment Canada would be conducive to the formation of severe thunderstorms.
In the Montreal region, this is indicated a very dangerous thunderstorm with thunder and lightning that could cause a destructive gust, baseball -sized hail or larger, heavy rain can happen.
Environment Canada also issued weather alerts for a tornado watch focused on the Gatineau, Pontiac, Saint-Jérôme, Mont-Tremblant, Laurentides and Lanaudière regions.

Environment Canada recommends that residents of areas where alerts are issued stay indoors and stay away from exterior walls.
