Another driver, a 21-year-old man, sustained serious injuries, but his life is not believed to be in danger.

Route 132 was closed in the same direction between Route 201 and Route 236 to conduct the investigation.

Another crash

The second accident occurred a little to the east, in Saint-Chrysostome, around 5:30 pm A head-on collision on Route 209 involved three vehicles, according to a spokesman for SQ.

A driver would have entered the other lane where two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions. It was avoided by the first vehicle, a van, before descending the road that went to a Hydro-Québec pole.

The second vehicle, driving in the back of the van, collided with a detour in its lane.

The driver of the culprit vehicle, a 45-year-old man, died in the collision. One of the vehicles he collided with, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious, non-fatal injuries.

The four occupants of the van were not injured.

The cause of this second accident remains unknown. Investigators were on the scene Thursday night to clarify this event.

Route 209 is closed between Montée du 4e Rang and Montée Mercier.

Hydro-Québec teams were also dispatched to the site to fix the broken pole. Many residents of 4e Rang have no electricity.
