Two people were killed and two others were injured in a three -vehicle collision on Queen Elizabeth Way in Mississauga, Ont., Thursday night.
According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), two vehicles collided and blocked the left lane on the east side of the highway when they collided with a third vehicle around 10:30 p.m.
The driver of the two vehicles involved in the first collision was killed, police said.
The passenger in one of the two cars was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the third vehicle who sustained minor injuries was taken to the hospital.
The freeway was closed in both directions between Dixie and Cawthra streets overnight, but all lanes reopened to traffic by 5 am Friday morning.
Police say they are investigating.
