Air Canada plane makes emergency landing in Halifax

An Air Canada Airbus A220 had to make an emergency landing at Halifax International Airport on Saturday after reporting a mechanical problem.

127 passengers and crew members were on board this flight from Montreal.

While in flight, the pilots received an alert from the aircraft’s tire air pressure gauge.

After consultation with the Technical Maintenance Center, it was decided to continue the flightcan we read in a note from Air Canada.

In addition to emergency protocol deployed by the airport, the Halifax Regional Municipality Fire Department was called to the scene.

Our team responded to the call by being ready to intervene on the aerodrome if necessarysaid Halifax International Airport spokeswoman Tiffany Chase.

The landing was uneventful shortly after 5 p.m.

The Airbus A220 plane managed to get to the boarding gate without the assistance of airport services.

An inspection of the device has been carried out.

The Halifax Regional Municipality Fire Department left the scene shortly thereafter.
