A man allegedly set fire to a woman’s clothes on the subway

A man allegedly poured liquid on a woman and set it on fire in the Toronto subway on Friday. Police say they arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection with the case.

The man, Tenzin Norbu, of Toronto, has been charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, common nuisance and mischief. He appeared in a Toronto court on Saturday.

Officers say they were called to the Kipling subway station around 12:30 p.m. They say they received reports that a woman had been assaulted.

According to the officers, the man poured a liquid substance on the woman and set it on fire, causing a fire.

The woman was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital. On Friday, the police claimed that the injuries from which the woman suffered raised fears for her life. His health status has not been updated since.
