The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) announced on Monday the arrest of two teenagers, minors, in connection with a series of acts of vandalism, committed at the beginning of June in the sector of Masson-Angers, on cars and private residences.
The two young men, both residents of Gatineau, were arrested on Friday, following a brief investigation by the police. They were questioned by investigators at the police station and their parents were notified.
The two teenagers were released on a promise to appear. They must abide by many conditions, including a curfew.
The police submitted their investigation report to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP) in the Youth Division. Charges of mischief could be brought against them.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming.
Flat tires and shattered windshields
Several residents of the Masson-Angers sector were victims of vandalism on their car as well as on their property, on the night of June 4th.
Some reported flat tires, damaged bodies or smashed windshields. A dozen complaints were then filed with the SPVG
