Vancouver police are looking for the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run

The collision between the pedestrian and the vehicle occurred on Sunday around 11:30 p.m., at the intersection of 4e West Avenue and Arbutus Street, on the border between the Kitsilano neighborhood and the West Point Gray neighborhood.

Vancouver police say the 24-year-old victim, who was with a friend, was hit by a car that appeared to be speeding. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver, who did not stop after the collision, was traveling in a recent model gray sedan.

Investigators are looking for the suspect and have interviewed several witnesses.

The police are appealing to everyone for dashboard camera images or photos from surveillance cameras of surrounding businesses taken at the time of the incident.

Police believe the suspect was heading east on 4e Ave.

The front of his car was damaged.
