The lady pleaded guilty to the charges brought against her on Monday morning at the Rouyn-Noranda courthouse.

The alleged facts took place between January 1, 2019 and April 21, 2021. Josianne Dionne systematically dipped into the cash registers at Super C, according to the facts reported to the court. Over the months, she would have amassed the sum of $60,000.

Defense and prosecution attorneys have agreed on a joint sentencing suggestion. The accused receives 240 hours of community service, which she must complete within 18 months.

She must also comply with a reimbursement order worth $60,000 for the benefit of the Super C trade. In addition, Ms. Dionne is prohibited from going to the Super C for a period of two years.

Judge Couture: An “excessively favorable” suggestion

According to the lawyers, Josianne Dionne would have collaborated throughout the investigation. The defense lawyer, Me Vincent Bernier, pointed out that without Ms. Dionne’s collaboration, the compilation of the images from the Super C surveillance cameras for the period of the flights would have required an enormous amount of time.

Judge Hubert Couture said he finds this common suggestion excessively favorable towards Josianne Dionne, but he accepted her. The magistrate added that the court could easily have imposed a harsher sentence.
