The accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at km 272. A 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after swerving aboard a stolen vehicle. However, there is no fear for his life.

The pickup truck rolled over several meters on Highway 20 after hitting an impact attenuator in a work zone. A semi-trailer truck subsequently struck the debris left from this collision, causing a major oil spill.

The highway was closed westbound for an hour to allow for cleanup.

After the accident, the youth fled on foot and about fifteen minutes later, witnesses reported the presence of an injured man in the same area.

The police and paramedics found him and took him to the hospital where his injuries are considered serious.

The teenager allegedly stole the van from Lévis earlier in the night.

This is the second major accident to occur in a few days in this sector. Two people lost their lives on Monday in Val-Alain, after their car hit a rock face near the intersection of 3e Rang and rue Principale.
