Fatal collision with a school bus

The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Route 132 in Hope Town.

The victim was traveling westbound when he hit a school bus in the oncoming lane. Seriously injured, the driver was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A dozen children were inside the bus at the time of the accident. One of them was taken to hospital as a precaution. The bus driver suffered minor injuries.

Route 132 was closed to traffic for several hours to allow the reconstitutionist of the Sûreté du Québec to conduct his investigation.

The identity of the victim will be released later today.
