Police officers from the Saguenay Police Department (SPS) carried out a special operation on Wednesday morning to recover one of the old bells of the Sainte-Cécile church which had been stolen in May from Ball Park, in Jonquière. .

With the help of the public, officers were able to identify a suspect on Frontenac Street. They took over the premises on Wednesday morning and then arrested the individual. They recovered the church bell, now demolished.

The man will notably face a charge of concealment of less than $5,000.
