The Chez Ti-Marc canteen in Edmundston was engulfed in flames on Tuesday.
The owner, Marc Albert, finds that the company, launched last year in the midst of a pandemic, is a total loss.
Well of course there are all sorts of ideas going through our heads there. It really is. it was a mourning as one could say there. All the work we put into it and all the efforthe confided.
The Chez Ti-Marc canteen had just launched its summer season. Since 1er June, the business is open every day except Mondays and Tuesdays. The owner intended to open soon every day of the week, but the fire came to put an abrupt end to this project.
It was the second edition this year. She was really well taken off, people were really happy. We had added things to the menu. We wanted to open seven days a week to offer soft cream, but we didn’t have time. said Mr. Albert.
Several residents have shown a certain solidarity with the owner of the young company, which, he says, motivates him to get the canteen back on its feet.
Everything was there, everything was working fine. People were happy, customers and so on. We will see what will happen. There’s a good chance we’ll take it off againhe explains.
No one was injured and firefighters managed to put out the blaze within 15 minutes, according to the deputy director of the fire department, Jean-Philippe Oudin. He says an inquest will try to shed light on the causes of the fire.
