A driver was caught while driving at a speed of 177 km/h on Highway 10 in Sherbrooke on Wednesday night.
The driver was arrested by Sûreté du Québec officers in the area of Highway 410 around 9 p.m.
The 19-year-old Sherbrooke resident received a ticket worth $ 1,471 and 14 demerit points were added to his driving record.
His driver’s license was also suspended for seven days.
Pinned at over 100 km / h in a residential area
Earlier Wednesday, a driver was caught while driving at 102 km / h in a residential area of Sherbrooke.
The 46-year-old man was at the intersection of College and Parkdale streets, in the Lennoxville area, while officers from the Sherbrooke Police Department conducted a radar operation in the area.
The speed limit in this zone is 50 km/h.
The driver was fined $ 817 and 10 demerit points were entered on his file. Also, his driver’s license was suspended for 30 days.
